Job Description

The Front End Web Developer provides support for Affiniscape’s applications and services for both external and internal clients. The primary responsibility is the implementation of theme and custom website designs within Affiniscape’s content management system. The ideal candidate would be fluent in modern web standards like HTML, CSS and JavaScript but still be knowledgeable about web design principals and user experience best practices.

Responsibilities

Developing themes and custom designs for integration into Affiniscape’s CMS
Hand-coding HTML & CSS for email templates and custom micro-sites
Providing subject matter expertise on front-end web development for other departments
Delivering exceptional customer service

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or comparable education & experience required
1-3 years of web development experience, preferably in a design or development agency
1-3 years of experience with any server-side programming language
1-3 years of experience with JavaScript and a JavaScript library like jQuery
Ability to hand-code valid, cross-browser HTML/CSS
Proficiency in Adobe Fireworks and Photoshop CS5
Self motivated and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Deep knowledge of browser quirks along with excellent debugging skills
Positive, self-starter attitude and desire to exceed expectations at every turn
Attention to detail and focus on quality of work
Excellent communication skills

Preferred Experience

Experience interfacing with and providing support for clients, writing JQuerey plugins, writing MySQL queries, programming in ColdFusion, developing themes for content management systems, and creating user interface wireframes and mockups.
